It took one final defensive stand, but in the end, David Crockett won the Musket Bowl.

Crockett quarterback Cade Larkins threw for nearly 400 yards and the Pioneers stopped Boone in the Red Zone as time expired to preserve a 34-27 victory. With the win, the Pioneers remained undefeated and locked up a conference championship. Both Boone and Crockett will host home playoff games next week.

While the Pioneers (9-0, 5-0) found success through the air, Boone (7-2, 4-1) countered with a strong ground game. Charlie Cole rushed for just over 170 yards while Boone quarterback Easton Harrell also rushed for over 100 yards.

It was Cole who gave the Trailblazers their first lead of the night at 27-26. Cole broke off a 74-yard TD run to bring Boone all the way back from a 26-14 deficit, but a 41-yard touchdown pass from Larkins to Donta Hackler, which was followed by a successful two-point conversion, proved to be the difference.
